Once upon a time.....
there was a period when the Internet and the Web came into existence, when everything was new, when things were looking good for all who found their way there. When all felt free making up homesteads of their own there, telling others about themselves, about things they loved, about their passions, about their homes, about their hometowns or home countries, about pets and family. They
were even helped with getting what they called webspace for free by a
couple of companies like Geocities,
Tripod and many more. A time
before so-called social networks made access so
much easier for the price of creating a totally
uniform look. And it became worse, after
smartphones were held by everybody. And
everybody shared some flat jokes, just to let
others know they have arrived and have come to
stay. There are many people nowadays who don't even know what a URL is. Even if an address ist very simple, they got accustomed to typing the name into Google thus creating a dangerous dependancy on big companies, on big money, actually, enlarging their monopoly. |
